I had been a little bit dreading putting on the Big Day of Play Demo this year. Last year, Tyler and I had had to go help my mom move right before the demo, and the day we got back, I went out to look at the site where they were going to have us set up and it was in a baseball diamond. I just couldn’t do it, the footing was terrible. So no demo last year.
So earlier this year, I had set up a meeting with the event director to look at where they wanted us to “perform” this year. Took a day off work to go up there and somehow we missed each other. I had to take her word for it that we were on the grassy field, not on hard as a rock dirt surface.
Anyway, I did finally get a decent amount of participants and everything went really well. Everyone participating said they had fun. AND I brought Tally along. The puppy is amazing. Marching band? No problem! Rap Singers? No big deal! Kids running, screaming, kicking balls in his face? Super fun!! OMG, I love the little guy. And now we are done with the Big Day of Play.
It was a beautiful day yesterday for the Marymoor trial. The standard run looked like a lot of fun, and it was. Hannah ran really, really well and we qualified (whoo hooo, two standards in a row). Right after I got done running standard, I met some really nice sheltie breeder ladies who helped me get Tally’s ears fixed up again. I am a little apathetic about the ears, I really think they would be fine left natural, but I am pretty sure his breeder would like to see me at least try to get them to come up a little. He has really heavy ear leather plus a really low ear set. We will see what happens. While I had him out for the ear setting, he was watching agility. And screaming and jumping! It was the first time I had seen him get so worked up about anything. Oh, the boy is amazing.
JWW walked like a fairly easy course, but we messed up so bad, I just end up leaving in the middle. I was lost, and I just didn’t like the course. After our run, I got Tally and we all walked over to the dog show to do some shopping.
