So nothing went as planned. First of all, Dan got very ill on Monday morning with a high fever. He was still running a fever yesterday (Christmas) morning, so there was no way we could take him over to my sister’s with us.
Okay, let me start over. We opened our “family” Christmas presents on Christmas eve because Tyler had to work at 4:00 AM on Christmas morning. So that meant I got to get up at 3:00 to drive him. I was nervous about the Christmas eve deal, because we are tied to tradition in the Linthicum family. But it was fine. It was actually fun. Dan got me a new Nook because I broke mine a couple weeks ago. And a new, fancier, fishing pole. I got a beautiful Fossil purse from Kaylee and some nice warm socks from Tyler.
After Tyler got home from work on Christmas morning, we spent some time in the kitchen preparing our portion of the food and the kids and I headed up to my sister’s. What a gift to be able to spend time with the whole family (well except for Dan). My mom was doing very well, and seemed to enjoy the festivities.
