I always have trouble at Marymoor. Sometimes the grass surface is really dry and slick. That wasn’t the case this year, but we really sucked. Standard was actually an okay run and I thought we had it, but was told that the judge called Hannah’s teeter. Which was a really close call, she just barely came off the side. Ah well. JWW started bad, they said they were ready, then I went out there and the judge decided to totally re-do the tunnel, which took a while. After we finally got to run, Hannah went into the wrong end of the tunnel, so I decided to use the rest of the course to practice rear crosses which are problematic for us. And they continue to be. Gah. We are really in a slump.
Dan and I went to the ocean for our anniversary this week, we had a wonderful trip. On Wednesday on the way home, I noticed on Facebook that there was an open practice at Argus in the afternoon. So I decided to go out there. Sigh.
I just wanted to get Tally on the equipment one more time before his big debut Friday. When we got there, it was really hot and humid outside, so I decided to bring their crates into the arena. I walked the course, then ran Tally on the JWW side. He did awesome! I put him away, and ran Hannah. While I was running Hannah, I heard Tally in his crate making a fuss. When I got back, I noticed his crate was looking really bad. It was a soft crate and it looked like he managed to break the front support. I tried to prop it back up, but it was really broken. So after I ran him on the standard course, I put him in Hannah’s crate while I ran her. Hannah did fine, but I could hear Tally the whole time. Went over and he had totally rippped the whole front out of her crate. Crap.
So today I went out and bought a new wire crate for Tally and I took the mesh off of his old crate and made a repair of sorts with it on Hannah’s crate. But now both crates don’t fit comfortably in my car. I am so pissed. We measured the back of my car again, and I ended up ordering a slimmer crate for Hannah, which I guess is okay, I know that repair isn’t going to hold up anyway. What a mess.
