I have been sick forever. I have a cold that starts to go away over the week, then on the weekend when I take my RA meds, it comes back with a vengeance. Not fun. Yesterday we had a play day up in Mt. Vernon. I woke up feeling really crappy, having taken my meds the night before. I was determined to go because I have signed up and paid for a few of these and for one reason or the other, never made it up there. But on the drive up, I felt so bad I very nearly turned around and came home. I thought if it gets any worse I am not going to be able to drive and then how would I even get home.
So we got there and it was cold. Rainy and just cold, cold, cold. Tally started out first in JWW. The course they had set for Novice was more difficult than what we are used to. I wish I would have just done a loop around the ring so he could have success. But instead, we tried their course and Tally did great. That is when we should have left; but I didn’t and then Tally lost his brain and couldn’t jump. Sigh. Oh well, not too terrible.
Next up was Hannah in Standard. It was also a very difficult course, but we should have been able to do it. Not sure what is going on with Hannah. She is very naughty. Not listening. We did get some good practice on that difficult course.
Then Hannah in JWW. Just awful. By then we had been there for about 5 hours and she was done. She was doing more barking at me than running.
Then Tally in Standard. Also awful. I took him off the course after he bailed the dogwalk, but it took me too long to catch him, not sure if he even knew what he did wrong.
So all in all, not a fun day. Trying to find the positives: One thing I wanted to see was if Hannah could weave up there. She has had problems every time we go up there with weaves. But yesterday, her weaves were perfect, so that was good to see. Tally’s JWW was pretty good. He was really trying and not to wound up. And lastly, I felt better by the afternoon, so had no problem driving home!
