I thought I had entered Tally in T2B, but I hadn’t. So I got to the trial a little extra early. No biggie, got a good parking spot and worked a couple classes. I entered Hannah as well. Started out with Open JWW. Tally was awesome. Not a single bar. I had misread a line of jumps and didn’t cue him to turn, so he went and took an off course jump. Even cleared that bar! I was super pleased with the run, and he even had pretty good behavior at the end. No biting.
Next up was Hannahs Master standard. Ugh. I don’t know what is wrong – she is getting more and more reluctant to go into tunnels. Actually, there were two tunnels, she got the refusal at the easy one, and went in the one I had predicted she would never ever go in without a backward glance. Sigh. I am pretty sure it is her eyes. She is also very reluctant to jump on and off the bed unless the lights are on. So anyway, I plan to pretty much retire her sometime in the spring. I could spend a bunch of money getting her eyes checked, but I am just not sure what the purpose would be? I don’t think there is anything they can really do. I don’t know, I will bring it up with my vet.
On to Open standard with Tally. Another pretty awesome run where he just knocked the last bar. And it was totally my fault, I slowed down, he looked back and ‘bam’ down went the jump. Crap. Next time.
Hannah JWW was terrible. She went in the wrong end of the tunnel and then I couldn’t figure out what to do for a minute. It was a little embarrassing, I felt like I just stood there forever! Ha ha. Not a really fun run.
It was a fun day. The judges were great, the one lady judge was one of the fastest I have seen! Wow. She just was so efficient. We had a lot of runs, they had the new premiere classes, but the day went by so quickly because the judges were on it. So nice to see. And not in a mean way. I never heard them yelling at the gate, or the ring steward, everything just went super fast.
