I have a cold. And it was miserable wet and cold out yesterday. Not a prescription for a fun day of agility. But somehow it turned out pretty good.
I was running both dogs – first up was Hannah in Standard. She had a fabulous run. We had a bit of a bobble at the weaves. The course went from the table to the weaves and I noticed the weaves were quite close to the table.
As we headed into the weaves, Hannah was headed straight for the second pole. I assumed she would miss the entrance and I started to back up for a restart. Somehow she contorted her body back to barely make the entrance correctly which put her on a weird trajectory to stay in, but somehow she did, although she had to stop to bark at me. I was worried the judge would call something, but after that momentary hesitation she kept going so I figured we might be okay. It was quite the performance. But man, is she running good. Yee haw!!!
Next up was Tally’s standard. But I could see that both his standard and her JWW were so close together I had to bring them both in and have someone hold them for me. Tally’s standard run was pretty good. Two bars but also a runout and a refusal, so not too great. As soon as we got done, I had to run into the JWW ring with Hannah. Hannah’s JWW was super except I just didn’t support one jump enough and she had a refusal. But she was running so good! Her time was right up there even with the refusal which must have taken up a good 3-4 seconds.
Last was Tally in T2B. I don’t understand how come he is so much better in T2B than in either JWW or standard. He had a beautiful run, with just one bar down.
